FCC Clamps Down on Fraud, Waste, and Abuse.

Are you confident of your USF process?

  In August of 2007, the FCC strengthened its oversight of the USF and disclosed in its order that 460 USAC audits were underway. These target both contributors and recipients.  The FCC’s goal is to attack fraud, waste, and abuse.  We can provide you with a copy of the order and the subsequent news release at your request. 

  This latest clamp-down, the ever changing regulations, and complexities of database process and analysis leads us to ask these questions:

• Are your wholesalers charging you correctly?

• Are you 100% positive you are not losing money on USF every quarter?

• If the USAC comes to your door, are you prepared?

  If you can’t answer these questions to your own satisfaction, or if you just want more information, we suggest an introductory conversation with our audit partners.  The goal would be to bring clarity to your current status and devise a solution if appropriate.

  Your costs and the pass-through costs will be audited and your processes will be confirmed, which will give you vital information if you become subject to a USAC external audit.  If there are issues attached to your processes, the internal audit includes consultation on solutions.

  An independent audit of compliance could help your company in three ways:  First, it would deter the USAC audit right out of the gates.  Second, if USAC proceeds with an audit, the company will be prepared to respond in full and without expending valuable resources and time dealing with USAC, which is more of a pit bull than the IRS.  And then there is increased cash flow, which begins with understanding both your wholesale cost and pass-through to your customers.
